Where your book can go

Amazon KDP, Kobo, and BookVault

Each platform reaches readers differently. As part of Get Published, our team will help you choose the right one for your book — or set you up on more than one.

Amazon KDP

The biggest audience, ebook and print

  • The largest online bookstore, so your book sits where the most readers are already searching
  • Ebook (Kindle) and print-on-demand paperback/hardback from the same listing, with no upfront printing cost
  • Kindle Unlimited gives you an extra route to readers who read on subscription
  • Amazon's search and recommendations can surface your book to people already browsing similar titles
  • Usually the fastest platform to get a book live once it's approved

Best for: Authors who want the widest possible reach with the least friction.

Kobo

Strong reach beyond Amazon, no exclusivity

  • Particularly strong outside the US — UK, Canada, Australia, and Europe
  • Reaches readers on non-Kindle e-readers and readers who prefer to shop away from Amazon
  • No exclusivity requirements, so your book can be live on Kobo and other platforms at the same time
  • Connects to library lending programmes, putting your book in front of library readers too
  • A good way to diversify your readership rather than relying on one platform

Best for: Authors who want to reach international and library readers, alongside Amazon.

BookVault

Print quality, your own shop, real bookshops

  • UK-based print-on-demand known for reliable, consistent print quality and turnaround
  • Lets you sell directly from your own website or shop, rather than only through a marketplace
  • Can distribute into bookshops and wholesale channels, not just online
  • A practical way to get physical stock for events, signings, or selling in person
  • Works well alongside Amazon KDP and Kobo rather than replacing them

Best for: Authors who want print quality, their own sales channel, or bookshop distribution.

Each platform sets its own royalty rates, pricing rules, and terms, which can change over time. Our £200 publishing fee covers our setup and submission support — it doesn't include or affect what Amazon, Kobo, or BookVault themselves pay you as royalties.
